Dropping By ((RP for [info]sheunderstands))

Eric's first thought as he shut the door to his office was that he was going to need to buy some better soundproofing for the wall it shared with the main room of Fangtasia. Whatever had been installed with the last set of speakers, it was now pulsing the bass line so hard it would probably crack the paint on the walls in a few weeks. His second thought, as he looked down at the pile of paperwork in his "In" box, was that someday, he'd need to find a human he trusted enough to handle the books during the day so he didn't have to at night.

Not that there was much chance of such a thing happening, but Eric figured he'd at least try. Having fed earlier that night, he sat down and started on the drudgery. It definitely wasn't the kind of eternal life he'd expected when Godric had offered him eternity a thousand years ago, but Eric consoled himself with the thought that a millennium of paperwork still meant living for a thousand years.

He was extra determined to clear both his mind and his desk that particular night, too. Either the blood he'd managed to trick Sookie Stackhouse into ingesting was working surprisingly well or it was now exploiting something that was already there to begin with-- either would explain why the girl had told him she was on her way to talk. How much actual talking there would be was something Eric couldn't predict, but he was prepared for anything. Pam and Chow had let the door staff know to alert them if and when Sookie arrived and in turn, Eric had made sure his lieutenants would deliver the blonde to him unharmed, unmarked and as quickly as they could.

Leaning back in his chair, Eric set the heels of his boots on the edge of the desk and started reading.
